Talent Program

TALENT PROGRAM

Globalization remains a constant challenge for management. Many companies are already internationally oriented. However, managers will have to think and act more globally in the future. Companies can only remain successful in their markets if their managers combine professional and intercultural skills in one person. A global mindset is an important part of such intercultural skills and characterizes the ability to understand and connect different cultures. The scientific clarification of a global way of thinking is justified by the information-based processing as part of cognitive psychology. Accordingly, the difference lies in how international managers perceive, interpret and understand their environment, which leads to a decision-making process in order to ultimately act sensibly and in the awareness of the intercultural context. The development of a global mindset takes place on different levels: on the one hand, on the individual level, e.g. board or board level, second on the group level, e.g. within top executives or top management teams (TMT) and third on the organizational / company level . The core competencies of an internationally operating manager include intercultural qualities, knowledge, attitudes, convictions and his / her values. In addition to necessary personality traits such as openness, curiosity or cultural understanding, interpersonal processes are also required in order to get an internationally or globally reliable manager. These include, among other things, emotional resilience, network ability, sensitivity or mental adaptability and flexibility, which are internationally important success factors. Broken down to intercultural skills, the cognitive, affective (emotional) and behavioral levels are particularly affected by these processes.

Part 1: Globalization poses many challenges for management, so it is necessary that managers think globally as well as act locally. This attitude and mentality across national borders is known as the global orientation or global mindset. Your company can only be successful in its markets if your international executives have the appropriate professional and multicultural skills and act as crossers between the regions. Our course will familiarize you with the characteristics of a global manager.

Part 2: In the second step, we focus the course on new challenges in human resources management and its development (HRD perspective). The “War for Talents” has already begun. Managers need to be made aware of this and react by thinking globally and acting locally. Your company will only be successful in the market if your human resources have the necessary professional and multicultural skills and competencies. There we also focus on intercultural management and communication by analyzing intercultural differences. Therefore, we focus on cultural differences on eight important scales. It is shown that leadership is strongly interwoven with the cultural background and the perception of the boss is strongly anchored in the school environment and in the parents. At the end of Part 2, we will focus on which qualities, skills, abilities, personality traits and competencies your managers bring with them for success abroad? What can be taught and trained in class? Here we provide you with a free three-month trial version to test YOUR 84 global leadership skills and give YOU the opportunity to improve them step by step.

Part 3: In the last step, we present a process approach to globalization and internationalization of your company. In this VUCA world (Volaitility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity), the organizational structure today has to adapt to the circumstances and remain as flexible as possible. This course sheds light on an organizational development (OD) perspective. We further emphasize that international corporations have to have a global identity with a global image and also have to emphasize cultural intelligence so that your company remains successful in the market. How do you analyze whether your company is set up globally and whether the employees you employ think globally? What does it take to start a business to operate globally? How do you test your company for global suitability?

The courses consist of lectures, videos, business cases, discussion forums, and other resources that help executives better understand the VUCA world of global managers and global leaders.
